Well 2010 arrived with a bang!

Great fireworks display over Sydney Harbour and a great time was had by all! Another "bang "in 2010 was Simon Whitlocks brilliant and very strong run to the final of the Ladbrokes.com PDC World Championships where he could only be stopped in the final by Phil "The Power"Taylor by 7 sets to 3, Simon did himself and Australia proud!

Also with Simons runner up came an award from the PDC of best Newcomer and a Premier League Wildcard, this can only be good for darts... a new face in the PL and also a great role model for juniors and even seniors.

What about me? Well who knows what may happen in 2010, seems that personal issues and lack of play cost me my spot in the A Grade Team I was playing in so now here in 2010 I am left stranded... looking for a team! No disrespect to lower grade (as there are ALOT of players in lower grade who can be a real pest to A grade pleayers! I dont think I could do myself justice by dropping back a grade as I want to maintain my level of darts, I found once when I filled in for a season that even though I was winning my darts average went down like a ton of bricks.

I am gratefull I have support in both my wife Diana and karl Holden from A180 Darts as I have said that I would not chase a team anymore I would play if asked and if it was for a team that I got on well with the players as I would hate to be asked just to make up numbers of be a reserve. So the question remains.. 2010 is here... what to do, what to do?

Maybe its time I looked further away from my area to play OR maybe play in the Association that is down South... OR even not play except for DPA Grand Prix events and maybe the one or two DFA events I usually go to (though I think even with alot of practice nothing beats playing week in week out in competition)... so Wazza's dilemma deepens but I am confident all will work out in the wash and am really looking forward to August for the Grad Prix Event held at Luna Park where we will have alot of oversea's players attending... now that IS a must be event!

Until the next Blog.. Wazza out!
